Making a switch to Natural Deodorant?
Have you ever gone from using conventional Antiperspirant and then decide to switch over to Natural Deodorant? After making the switch did you find that only after a few hours of using the Natural Deodorant it didn’t work for you?
If you answered “Yes” to both questions, we have an explanation for you!
One of the main active ingredients in Antiperspirant are Aluminum Compounds. Aluminum Compounds work by shrinking the pores and sweat glands in your armpits which in turn regulates sweat and odor production. Antiperspirant may keep you from perspiring and allow you to stay fresh, but due to the toxins in Aluminum Compounds they are known possible health risks.
It may take some time for your body to transition when you switch from an Antiperspirant to an Aluminum Free Natural Deodorant, your glands and pores will start to unclog, and function properly. In this transition period, toxins and other fluid buildup are being released and you may notice your body odor increase. This usually sends people back to their Antiperspirant thinking that the Aluminum Free Natural Deodorant didn't work, which isn't the case.
Here are a few tips to keeping fresh during the transition:
-Scrub armpits with a loofah and the ZE Coconut Charcoal & Clay Armpit Detox Bar.
-Shave your underarms every other day. Hair traps bacteria and therefore odor occurs.
-Eat plenty of fresh fruit and veggies. If you are putting a lot of processed foods: white flour, heavy meats, and refined sugar into your body, the sweat that comes out is going to smell worse. Sweat is your pores waste, so be mindful of what you consume.
-Wear loose clothes so that your armpits can breathe.
Happy Transitioning!
